Dear AAIN-NJ2 Family,
Greetings and a warm welcome to all of you. I am honored that you have chosen me to represent and lead you. We are a strong organization, with nurses from all practice settings, and varying levels of education. What brings us together is our Indian heritage and our desire to flourish in our profession. AAIN-NJ2 celebrates both our homelands, our profession, and most of all, ourselves.
For the 2023-24 term, I would like to invite all of you on a journey to extend the theme of “Engage – Educate – Empower.” As we move beyond the restrictions of COVID, I am excited by the prospect of new opportunities for nurses and nursing. Let us seize the moment and:
- Reconnect by engaging in membership activities. AAIn-NJ2 plans on both virtual and in-person events to bring our members together. Whether it be educational, cultural or recreational, I encourage you to make time to reconnect with fellow nurses of Indian heritage. Stay tuned for an Events calendar to help you plan your attendance at upcoming events.
- Reimagine educational and professional goals. Our membership consists of nurses in varying levels of clinical, administrative, and academic practice. Reach out to me and I will connect you with a mentor. We have an extraordinary wealth of knowledge and expertise within our ranks. Together we can be the change.
- Reinvigorate ourselves! Self-care is essential in the post-COVID world. We are committed to a healthy workforce – starting this month, with an educational session on Heart Health, specifically for nurses.
Thank you, once again, for allowing me the privilege of serving you. I look forward to meeting all of you at upcoming events. If you have any ideas about future events, collaborations, or simply want to connect with me, please don’t hesitate to do so.
Sincerely,
Munira Wells, PhD, RN
